Keep Moving You Will Keep Pain At Bay
There are many theories behind seasonal joint pain. Some studies claim like Tufts University in 2007 found that every 10-degree drop in temperature corresponds with an incremental increase in arthritis pain. In addition, relatively low barometric pressure, low temperatures and precipitation can increase pain.
Another theory says that shortening length of sunshine correlates with depression, somatization, and anxiety, which influences in part by lifestyle factors or moods and also on onset of painful episodes.
Some scientist say that there are likely a multitude of other factors that contribute to weather sensitivity, such as increased likelihood to remain inside on cold days.
Alterations in barometric pressure can induce a state of transient disequilibrium that sensitizes nerve endings as well. Sensitized nerve endings may subsequently aggravate pain caused by changes in temperature or humidity.
Low pressure directly triggers the sympathetic nervous system to stimulate chronic pain via local ischemia and vasoconstriction, that may aggravate pain
Cold temperatures trigger less blood flow to extremities which makes those areas colder and stiffer, which can cause discomfort and pain.
Also cold temperature releases adrenocorticotropic hormone and epinephrine, which aggravate pain via vasoconstriction, ischemia, and local decrease in temperature.
Some studies say there is no such relationship between joint pain and change in season.
Ayurprevencia Clinic treats joint pain with panchkarma like abhyang, bashpa swedan, virechan, sadhyo virechan, patra pottali swedan, pottali swedan and basti. It also helps to reduce joint and muscle tenderness, stiffness, weakness with the help of oral medicines and panchkarma.
Ayurprevencia Clinic uses formulations of plants like dashmool, sahachar, guduchi, kokilaksh, shatavari, nirgundi, ajmoda, rasna, castor oil, babbul, guggul as medicines in treatment of pain in joints and muscles.
Pathyapathya means food regimen and behavioural advice. While conducting panchkarma patients are advised to follow the same and are kept on light, semi liquid food. They are instructed not to take sour, fermented, or spicy food and to avoid atishrama (heavy work), ratrijagarana (night vigils) and divasvapa (daytime sleep).
